Helena and Ben

Two years ago I met Helena while photographing her sister’s wedding. To begin with the day felt like deja vu.  The sisters had their hair and make-up done at the same venues in central Wellington before heading back to Helena’s parents place to get dressed.  But from then on the wedding was colourful and unique. This was the first time I had photographed a Greek Orthodox wedding. It was a privilege and a great experience to witness and photograph such a lovely couple being married in the traditional Greek way. Parliament buildings and the surrounding gardens was the setting for the bridal party photos before heading to Dransfield House for the reception, where I was entertained watching a bit of horos or Greek dancing.  It was a lovely wedding enjoyed by all.  I only wish Helena’s parents had more daughters.

Amy and Josh

Amy and Josh where married at St Josephs Church, an idyllic little church hidden above the highway at Pauatahanui. They where blessed with a blue sky day as the glorious sound of the bagpipes paraded them down the isles from the church. Amy and Josh’s fun humorous characters was contagious to the rest of the bridal party and made my job easier while taking photos at Trentham Racecourse. The humour and fun was extended at Wallaceville house with speeches bringing tears of joy and love amongst all the family and friends. It was a great day for everyone to celebrate a fantastic loving couple.
